MK Collect partners with The University of Melbourne and Innaco

9 May 2024
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the University of Melbourne and Innaco Pty Ltd to build our first direct air capture (DAC) pilot plant. This project utilizes our patented technology, designed for affordability and rapid scalability, minimizing reliance on in-house manufactured equipment to significantly cut capital costs and initial investments.

Our collaboration aims to integrate this technology into scalable commercial applications, with industry adoption targeted within the next three years. The pilot plant will test an advanced system using a green solvent developed for DAC, potentially revolutionizing CO2 reduction strategies globally.

MK Collect combines innovative scientific findings with off-the-shelf equipment and existing facilities to achieve the lowest operational and capital expenditures. Our process, featuring low-temperature solvent regeneration, dramatically reduces energy consumption and operating expenses.

This new design is engineered to remove CO2 from the atmosphere at a competitive price, setting the stage to achieve costs below $100 per tonne by 2030—making this a viable solution for combating climate change.

The full paper published by Melbourne Energy Institute (MEI) can be accessed here. If you want to get more information regarding our first pilot plant, please feel free to contact us.
